When is my continuation training due?
Enter the type of training and the date you last completed it. The tool applies the 24-month convention that follows from the 2-year period in the rule and gives you the date, the status and a calendar entry.
The rule behind the date
Point 145.A.35(d) requires the organisation to ensure that certifying staff and support staff receive sufficient training in each 2-year period to keep their knowledge of relevant technologies, organisation procedures and safety management, including human factors, up to date. For the wider staff population, AMC4 145.A.30(e) point (c) says safety training including human factors should be of an appropriate duration in each 2-year period, and 145.A.30(e) itself is the competency clause that both rest on.
The specialist subjects follow the same rhythm. Appendix IV to AMC5 145.A.30(e) requires fuel tank safety training to be repeated in each 2-year period after Phase 2, and AMC 20-22section 8(b) says EWIS training should be repeated in a period not exceeding two years.
"In each 2-year period" is a rolling window, not a date. The only way to be certain of never breaching it is to anchor the window on the last training date and complete the next session before that date plus 24 months. That is what this tool calculates. Your MOE should state the convention your organisation uses, and your training record, not this page, is the document an auditor reads. Where does the 24 months come from?
145.A.35(d) requires certifying staff and support staff to receive sufficient training in each 2-year period. AMC4 145.A.30(e)(c) applies the same 2-year period to safety training including human factors for the wider staff list. Appendix IV to AMC5 145.A.30(e) sets a 2-year period for fuel tank safety Phase 2, and AMC 20-22 says EWIS training should be repeated in a period not exceeding two years. Twenty-four months from the last training date is the convention that guarantees no period is missed.
Is the due date the certificate date plus 24 months?
The tool uses the date you enter. Enter the date the training was completed, not the date the certificate was printed, and say in your MOE which date your organisation uses.
What do the three statuses mean?
Current: more than 90 days remain. Due within 90 days: plan the session now. Overdue: the 24-month point has passed; speak to your compliance monitoring manager about the record and book the training.
Does the tool store my data?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is sent to us unless you click the email reminder, which opens your own mail client with the details filled in.
